Lactation: Peaceful Beginnings

Peaceful Beginnings, (a Center for the Childbearing Year) first started with Linda Donovan seeing clients for massage therapy and mothers for breastfeeding consultation. Together with her daughter Heather, they added breastfeeding classes, newborn care classes, prepared childbirth classes. In addition to helping clients succeed in their breastfeeding goals and help women feel more relaxed and energetic through massage, Linda enjoys spending time with her family. Linda and her husband Dan have been married since 1977. Together they have three adult children, Daniel, Heather and Patrick and two grandchildren. Linda witnessed the amazing birth of her first granddaughter, Eleanor Ananda, on July 2, 2006 and the home birth of her grandson, James on October 16, 2008. Massage: The Nurtured Birth

Brandy Woodford, CD (DONA), LMBT #8893 is a licensed massage & bodywork therapist, and a certified birth doula through DONA international. She also volunteers with the local La Leche League group in Greensboro. Brandy's passions are childbirth and breastfeeding. She believes that childbirth, like breastfeeding, is a natural process which can be greatly enhanced by a caring and knowledgeable doula that understands your unique situation and goals.

Brandy is the mother of two children. After having a birth doula with her second birth, she fell in love with the profession.
